Four years ago to the day, I got on a BA flight with a one way ticket to London.

Time sure does fly.

  4. Happy belated anniversary! I've recently discovered your blog after finding out that my husband's job may be transferring us to London from Houston. A desperate search for people who may be able to relate lead me to your posts. So congratulations…..sounds like you've had a successful stint over there and are coming back with a great partner with whom you'll share all that Seattle and The States have to offer! Exciting!!! So really? Do we want to do this? Leave our fairly comfortable existence and tote our three very small children to London. Where do I even begin? If only I could identify the suburbs that we should be considering so I can at least visit them while we're there in April….that'd probably be a good start! And, what about my work? I photograph newborns (www.anniehewittphotography.com). Obviously babies are born on the other side of the pond too, but how do I lug my equipment around if I don't even have a car?! Ugh!! Feeling overwhelmed and thankful that you've been blogging about your experience!

    1. Thanks for the commentary, Annie. I've a few friends here who are originally from Houston (note to self: the world is not so small...)!
Just take a deep breath, and do it. There's nothing you can't change or undo if you don't like the outcome!

  5. Like Annie H, I've just discovered your blog. I'm a brand new American expat in southern England. My winemaker husband and I relocated here from California to get in on the sparkling wine scene. Wine is our life but words are my passion! I'm blogging here: www.marriedtowine.com

Can't wait to read more on your site! The years just fly by, don't they...
